Not only did Louis’ Lunch serve the first steak sandwich in the United States, but it also claims to have been the creator of the hamburger. Having ran out of steaks, the restaurant took some ground beef trimmings, made a patty, and grilled it before putting it between two slices of bread. Thus was born the great North American classic: the burger.
Among our seven different varieties of burgers, today we have the Jalapeño Cheddar and it does not let down the great legacy that is the hamburger.
Like all our burgers, the beef is a triple A prime-rib half-pound premium patty served with a deli pickle, freshly-cut lettuce, red onion, tomato and flavoured with a savoury basil mayo.
The Jalapeño Cheddar fires up the classic burger with, as the name gives away, the Mexican chilli pepper. Add some fried onions and soft American cheddar cheese, and you got yourself the tasty Jalapeño Cheddar.
Served on the side of this particular burger is our house side salad, but you are more than welcome to order yourself potato thins, sweet potatoes, regular fries, or a soup (or all of the above–we won’t judge).
What are you waiting for? Downtown Edmonton can’t be that far away. Come grab a beer, or one of our many original (and not-so-original) cocktails and enjoy a burger!
See you soon YEG.
